A roundel can sit within panelling, furniture, plasterwork or a larger ceiling programme.
Portable objects
Seals, medals and small reliefs use circular framing at the scale of the hand rather than the building.
Editorial graphics
Contemporary design can reuse the compositional logic while declaring the image new and the ornament invented.
